afternoon all,
today is halloween and my costume is on my avatar (i could never find a cool costume like this one). i put her in a goth outfit, with dangle earrings and black hair. (i think black hair looks quite chick (french accent) on this animated representation of myself) the avatar is my wannabe becca - wish i could look great everyday and have my hair perfect, also think i would like to be in perfect shape since this is a wish list. (you know the hollywood killing machine of perfection with a great personality to boot...) *see personality situation below.* umm anyway, check out the shoes :). yeah, try walking in those things much less standing up.
i have noticed a scary trend here, in ok, with spiders. they are huge and everywhere. these things keep building webs around our house, and for some reason (that i can not fathom), i am the one to walk through the webs. now mind you, i am horribly frightened by spiders. SPIDERS KILL people. and i am sure i would be one of those who die. ( i realize i am probably not even allergic to them, but i could be and i will not push that envelope.)
yesterday - yes, i was a busy, busy, busy.... little bee you may recall all the things i was doing, cooking, couch project, etc. well - i swept the cobwebs away from the doorbell and around the edges of our front door. should have left it up till this evenings festivities get over. great natural decoration. - back to the large spider comment - before taking my husband to work (one of the cars is out of order) he headed out the door before me. "Hey, found your spider web from last night" (must have been monday morning then, which means i wasn't really taking him to work he just came back in to show me the spider) - that puppy was at least 1 1/2" round. then it spread its legs out and (i am shuddering remembering the incident...) headed toward some bush we have. (soon to be obliterated if i have any favor....) the spider had build a web from our drain spout to the bushes. YIKES!! i am so glad for my spider killer husband - this one he didn't kill tho... it ran like a squeamish little girl (umm that hits too close to home actually). ... ran like a fire was chasing it. there makes me feel better.
as for the tradition of handing out candy - well, i have decided to forgo that. i would simply consume the bag - be better to just by the bag and gorge myself so that i don't have to buy a costume. storyline - no candy in the house.
on another thread - i have met a few people that i really don't care for here. only the reason i do not care for them is because of the tendency they have to monopolize the conversation. I would like to monopolize the conversation. NEWS FLASH: i really like to have full attention on myself and be the center of everyone's world. kind of like a becca channel - becca all day, all the time. i am just so darn interesting. ( i know, i know, most of you had no clue did you? admit it - NO CLUE!! no, no, really it's alright that you didn't know. most people would not.) so now, i am finding that i have this horrible habit (well, i am sure there are plenty of other habits too) that must be broken so that others can stand to be around me. the problem to deal with? - i WANT to only talk about myself (hear the whine here....). i think i am grateful to see behaviors that need to change in my life, and meanwhile i will attempt to avoid certain individuals, often. (probably will have to be in constant contact with them until it no longer bothers me.)
on the subject of projects - we are PLANNING to put the baseboard trim on tonight. i have it all laid out and hope to put nails in it. then we will need to put up the chair rail - probably saturday since it is a 2-3 hour project. also need to purchase a few more items for the "couch" project (gnash teeth) amazing how much that is costing... i am making plans to purchase some bookshelves so we can unload another 7 - 10 boxes. (yeah tinder for the fireplace..) also thinking of spray painting the tv console. (i love spray paint - it is like magic color changing stuff. so much can be quickly accomplished with it)
and finally i would like to give a shout out to some of my visitors - bob, marianne, and randie - thank you for leaving comments. later all

Pictures for the end of project post
All right pict 1 - showes two pieces of foam - approximately 3 inches. one on the bottom "palette" and the other on the floor. behind the foam fitted palette is the back of the couch - yeah.
pict 2 - shows that i have bunk beds, but nothing like a couch to sit on. (there are also pieces of the foam... that dude was running around with...) (turd...) RABBIT TRAIL i could leave the couch like this and set the pieces side by side, put sheets over it and who would know the diff???? we don't need anything else to sit on do we? really??
pict 3 - dude. he is done therefore i should be done. perfect showing to the "end" of today's labors. :)
hope you all enjoy
Ketch-Up
alright, i sure love this blogging idea. i have lots to say, i suppose i will need to be cautious. those who know me would caution me to not use anyone's actual name or put to word most of what happens in my mind. (good luck me)
i live in oklahoma, where the wind goes sailing through the trees......, with my audio engineering husband. we moved here this past may from upstate ny. (they are having to scrape frost off their windows now...) i am doing my best to find the way from our driveway to the local supermarkets and places of interest. i do not work, most of my time is spent working on a project, reading, or catching up on one of the 70+ dvds we own. to some this is a large number, to others this is a mere pittance. nuf said.
i am singing in a choir at our church (okay not singing yet, but more like practicing a lot. with no clue when i will be allowed to actually sing with them) and i enjoy it.
we have two cats. one - bernice - a black and white 6 or 7 year old (man, she may be even older than that, but i am not sure) and, two - dude - a yellow tabby with adorable yellow/brown okay okay, amber eyes. sheesh. we believe he is (lets see brought him home july 2nd and think he was 1 - 2 weeks then, actually he may have been a few days old...), well thurs he will be 13 to 17 weeks old. (how can a decent person not know the age of their beloved pets????? i am shamed). they are actually great for each other and we enjoy watching them "play". it is more like dude tears bernice apart. he bites her just to make her scream, it is such an unpleasant sound, but we both laugh and point our fingers at them.
we have purchased our first home and are in the midst of "making it ours". you know where you move in and paint everything and start planning the remodeling projects. we do a lot of planning and talking. i paint. husband does tons of stuff inside and outside, on the cars, etc. i paint. oh oh oh - i put the trim along the base of our walls in our newly painted office. it is not attached, but it will be. sooner or later... so i clean, some. and read.
i very much enjoy cooking, except that i am usually the only one eating now. husband has late hours. yesterday i was making salsa and i cut up some peppers, cleaning them out with my thumb nails. then i remembered what happened to a friend so i put on latex gloves (actually sealing in the pepper acid..) and continued to cut veggies for about 1.5 hours. (like that, good use of a decimal point huh..) when i took the gloves off my thumbs were numb. i washed several times with soap and warm water, even tried cool water. i think i made it worse. got a bit up my nose - not in the eyes courtesy of info from the liu family, kept those fingers away from my eyes you betchya. well now i know why pepper spray is a sound product for stopping some would-be attackers. soo note to parents - don't let your children put peppers in their eyes, or up their noses. (i actually think i am still trying to get some of that acid off my fingers. keep noticing burning when i get my thumbs near my eyes.) DUH BECCA, DON'T PUT YOUR FINGER IN YOUR EYE.
sooo where to go after that. 'cuz i keep finding i have so much to say after i post. and i don't want to have 40 entries for this first day...
guess i will say night for now. have to pick husband up.

Project Done For The Day
even later afternoon - here i am with my lunch (4:23pm...). i have finished on the couch as far as i will be able to go without some other accessories...
i managed to get the foam fitted to the two couch "pallets". which should not have taken as long as it would appear to a careful observer (looking at the posting times...). in the midst of all the forming i have also setup my first blog site and downloaded picts, checked stuff online, cooked my lunch,

(RABBIT TRAIL HERE) if i worked and had to prepare a meal with a simple "lunch hour" i would never get to eat.. it is a good thing that i marinated my chicken overnight, unless i have to count that prep time into my "lunch hour"...?? and at this point i have no idea how much time that took because i was in the middle of a two hour (well i was cooking beans too, 6 hours then) cooking/prepping extravaganza. i was making bean soup that would turn into chili, chopping stuff for salsa, and cutting veggies for salads. also throwing together the marinades for four meals with chicken. busy, busy, busy little bee.
and watched dude run all over the room i chose to put the couch together in, dragging along the hay-like, grassy covering that is over the metal springs. (anyone that makes furniture - what is that stuff called anyway??) so, even tho it appears that it has taken me over 4 hours to form foam to two couch "palettes" it really has not... oh yeah, and i got the mail and opened it up looking through the ads for this weeks groceries and deals. so there.
now i need to get some adhesive and thick thread - probably some sort of twine actually - to attach the foam to the "hay-like, grassy" stuff. it would be bad if, while sam is sleeping on the open couch, the parts start slipping out of place and he is somehow eaten by the middle of the couch/bed. it would not be funny at all actually. tho i have a video (are they still called that now???) camera i could easily leave out in his sleeping area...
i guess i will need to cover up the palettes tonight so dude won't eat all the stuffing and strew it around the house. yep, he is definitely getting put in the other room for the night. bernice just leaves it all alone. she is such a perfect cat... more later on that subject..
umm can't get the picts up yet. will keep trying. but it is now almost an hour since i started and it just makes me look like i am not very able. have to keep up appearances you know....
laters peeps.

The Beginning
afternoon all - here is the beginning of my couch project. i am posting the first pictures of this great event - it has only taken (umm let me get a calendar out...) (kathy, when did we get this couch from you???? oh yeah, november 2005) okay now i am even more embarrassed.... 2 years to strip the couch and cut the foam pieces for the seats. (wow, what a looser) of course all who have been privy to this task (typed as if it was truly a simple task..) know that i have shown great fear at attempting to be this "crafty". yes, yes, yes, all the bravado only to have to get this done or my brother has to sleep on the floor for christmas. what a good sister i am trying to be.....
anywho... the first photo shows my little helper - dude - looking bewildered at the tools of my trade. a tape measure, green highlighter, and not so straight piece of trim to mark 3" all around the piece of foam in the middle of the floor.
pict 2 - the "bones" of my couch. i stripped all the fabric off - what a mess to have fine sandy foam pieces EVERYWHERE. vacuumed mucho after that task. took the couch arms off and stripped them (another picture somewhere on my computer). threw out all the old batting (nasty stuff) and vacuumed out mouse poop (ohhh yeah, also bleached and sanitized the heck out of everything i was touching...). what i have left is what you see in the pict (well and a few other picts, but who has that much room on a blog...?) oh and dude LOVEs the stuff covering the palette pieces - it is all over the place by now.
pict 3 - cutting 1/2 side of the foam. and my arm cramped up, and i had to turn it over and over. then dude thought he was helping me, so he clawed on the ends knocking the foam all over and (do you hear the whine in my voice????... i bet bob does... lol).... (i like the "...." ;).) (can we put emoticons in here???) sorry, rambling.
pict 4 - two halves :) YIPPEEE
and that is all i have to say to that. think the measuring and cutting took about 1/2 hour - i think. the whining may have added 15 minutes to it. i think i threw a hunk of foam at dude too...
k will update then next steps later
